Picture Frame

So now that things have slowed down…not a whole lot, but just a little, I was going through my phone and found a project I had actually completed!  Who knew?!  During Memorial Day weekend, I headed down to the Twin Cities to help my mom with her garage sale.  She had some cheap picture frames that I snagged right up to complete a project I had saw from The Cottage Mama.  Although, in the tutorial, an antique picture frame was used, I thought, these simple ones will just have to work.  I found some fabric I had laying around from other projects and decided to give it a whirl to help complete my living room decor.

Living room is complete!

A couple of weeks ago, I had some friends come over.  At that time I realized I had only completed 1 of the 4 valences needed to complete my living room windows.  It kinda looked….awkward!  So in a fit of rage and time constraints I got up super early to try and finish the valences…only time had gotten away from me and I ended up only completing 3 of the 4 valences.  Then a couple days later finished the 4th.  Upon arrival of my friends they didn’t even notice that one was missing…HA!!  So it really wouldn’t have mattered, but wanted to present a completed living room to show them.

What a weekend!

This past weekend was full of adventure.  It all started on a Tuesday when I told my husband I wasn’t feeling quite right and by Thursday morning I was staying home from work and by Friday morning I was slammed with a virus in my lungs and strep throat…talk about being hit by a train!  While recovering on Saturday morning the husband thought that since I had some cough syrup with codeine I would be absolutely fine to rip up carpet in our living room and lay new hardwood floors.  Oh did this sound pleasing to me, or what!?  NOT!!  I said that I would only help as long as we had help, so he called his cousin and Scott was super excited about getting out of his own house to help us!  Keep in mind we now owe him our time to help him move in March 🙂

Living Room Remodel

We have been in our new home for about 2 years now and during the first month or so we had done a wee bit of remodeling to our bathroom.  There is still much more we would like to complete, but we are young and on a budget!I decided that our living room needed a little facelift.   We currently have this fireplace…
