Retaining Wall

Spring has finally arrived, I think, until it snowed again in northwest North Dakota and prayed it didn’t reach the Fargo area.

The very first BEAUTIFUL weekend happened last weekend and we were on a mission to build a retaining wall in our backyard.

Details…

Although the bedroom is quickly wrapping up…just a little more to do.  I wanted to share the curtains I had made.

The color to the bedroom didn’t turn out exactly as I was hoping…I’m slightly disappointed by it, but if all else fails, I can paint over it in a couple years anyways.  I am slightly kicking myself, I think I should have went with a more neutral color.

But none-the-less it’s clearly better than the grey that was there before it.

Another remodel…almost complete!

So, after my bedroom has been only half in shreds for well over a year, we have finally almost finished the bedroom this past weekend. What an AMAZING FEELING!!  Here are a  couple of BEFORE pictures…you can see the reason this needed to be completed, ASAP!

House updates….

Outside of the realm of everything going on with myself, my husband and I have been super busy working on a bunch of outdoor updates and time is of the essence as winter seems to be fast approaching.  The first item completed was the removal of a bunch of bushes that were half dead or were prickly and I was super angry about stepping on the thorns with my bare feet.

Living room is complete!

A couple of weeks ago, I had some friends come over.  At that time I realized I had only completed 1 of the 4 valences needed to complete my living room windows.  It kinda looked….awkward!  So in a fit of rage and time constraints I got up super early to try and finish the valences…only time had gotten away from me and I ended up only completing 3 of the 4 valences.  Then a couple days later finished the 4th.  Upon arrival of my friends they didn’t even notice that one was missing…HA!!  So it really wouldn’t have mattered, but wanted to present a completed living room to show them.

What a weekend!

This past weekend was full of adventure.  It all started on a Tuesday when I told my husband I wasn’t feeling quite right and by Thursday morning I was staying home from work and by Friday morning I was slammed with a virus in my lungs and strep throat…talk about being hit by a train!  While recovering on Saturday morning the husband thought that since I had some cough syrup with codeine I would be absolutely fine to rip up carpet in our living room and lay new hardwood floors.  Oh did this sound pleasing to me, or what!?  NOT!!  I said that I would only help as long as we had help, so he called his cousin and Scott was super excited about getting out of his own house to help us!  Keep in mind we now owe him our time to help him move in March 🙂

Living Room Remodel

We have been in our new home for about 2 years now and during the first month or so we had done a wee bit of remodeling to our bathroom.  There is still much more we would like to complete, but we are young and on a budget!I decided that our living room needed a little facelift.   We currently have this fireplace…
